2011 NFL Mock Draft: Cincinnati Bengals A Julio Jones Trap

Read More: Julio Jones (WR – Alabama), Cincinnati Bengals, St. Louis Rams

In our 2011 NFL Mock Draft coverage it’s come to this: Deciding which teams seem the most worrisome as Julio Jones traps, teams that could decide they need a wide receiver as much as the St. Louis Rams do, even though they’ve never had to run stories about Danario Alexander’s knee. The Washington Bengals are the Rams’ most common enemies on this front, picking Jones at 10 in a number of post-Combine mock drafts, but the Cincinnati Bengals are the latest threat—at fourth overall—after Peter King intimated that they have Jones higher than A.J. Green on their draft board.

The good news is that the Bengals still have to deal with Carson Palmer’s retirement-backed trade demand; Julio Jones is great, but it would be easier to pull the trigger that early if the team had some idea of who might throw to him. A report on Twitter has Bengals coach Marvin Lewis saying that “the QB need is greater” than at wide receiver, but before you take that without salt keep in mind that he began it by saying “we have options at wide receiver that include Chad Ochocinco.”

Gotta run!.

CINCINNATI, March 16 (UPI) — An Ohio judge has ordered Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco to pay a clothing store more than $11,000 for clothing he bought but did not pay for.

Municipal Court Judge Bernie Bouchard ordered Ochocinco to pay Amm One, also known as Exclusive Wear, $11,717.39 for the clothes, The Cincinnati Enquirer reported Wednesday.

“My clients informed me they had given him ample opportunity to pay it and he didn’t,” Joseph Honerlaw, the attorney for the clothing company, said Tuesday.

The clothing was purchased between Sept. 19, 2008, and March 31, 2009, court documents show.

Authorities tried twice to serve Ochocinco with a lawsuit filed by the clothing company but failed.

When Ochocinco didn’t appear in court Tuesday, Bouchard ruled in favor of the clothing company.

Ochocinco, formerly known as Chad Johnson, is under contract to the Bengals for $6 million next year and was paid $6.7 million in 2010, the Enquirer reported.

What are your opinions.

Miami native Chad Ochocinco may be tied to the Cincinnati Bengals, but he still has his eyes on his hometown team.

While attending “ESPN The Weekend” in Orlando, the Bengals wide receiver sat down with ESPN 760′s Jeremy Marks-Peltz on Thursday night for a wide-ranging interview, which found its way to talking about Ochocinco’s love for the Dolphins.

Said the 10-year Bengals veteran: “Speaking of the Dolphins, like, I can say this. The Dolphins have always been my team since I’ve grown up. Anytime I play Madden, I play with the Dolphins. I mean, everything, the Heat, the Marlins, you know, the Panthers. I’ve been a Florida guy all my life. I love Cincinnati, it’s been good to me, I would like to win, I want things to turn around. I’m not in control of the situation, as you can see, my quarterback [Carson Palmer] is fed up. But we’ll see what happens.

The colorful Ochocinco, after putting together a stellar six consecutive NFL seasons after his rookie year of 2001 (while named Chad Johnson), has seen his production fall off in the three years since his name change.

From 2002-2007, he averaged 88.5 catches for 1,339.3 yards per season for a yards-per-reception average of 15.1. From 2008-10, he has averaged 64 receptions and 806 yards per season, with a yards-per-reception of 12.6.

What do you guys think about this.

Ochocinco may want to change name back to Johnson

CINCINNATI | Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco is putting his unusual name back in the news.

Ochocinco suggested at the end of an interview with ESPN on Tuesday that he’s planning to change his name back to Johnson. He didn’t give a specific reason, other than saying he’s “done enough with the Ocho thing.”

He has talked about changing his name several times. Leading up to a game against the Jets during the 2009 season, he insisted that he would change his name back to Johnson if cornerback Darrelle Revis shut him down.

Ochocinco failed to catch a pass, but kept his name. He later said his comments were made in fun and he was never serious about a name change.

Chad Ochocinco toned it down a bit for a change. The chatty Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver is never at a loss for words, but he couldn’t bring himself to stir things up the way he usually does. “It’s hard to give you the good stuff when we’re 2-8, so I have to be sort of in the humbling spirit right now,” Ochocinco said Tuesday on a conference call with New York reporters.
