CINCINNATI — Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones has been arrested in Cincinnati on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

The 27-year-old Jones was jailed around 3 a.m. Sunday. Cincinnati media outlets reported documents filed in court accuse Jones of being disorderly and shouting profanities in a bar and trying to pull away as officers arrested him.

Jones denied the allegations in an interview with WCPO-TV after leaving jail Sunday.

His career has been marred by off-the-field troubles, including at least six arrests and a dozen instances that involved police intervention.

He signed a two-year deal with Cincinnati in May 2010. He’s been recovering from a neck injury last fall that required surgery, but he was expecting to play this year.

A Bengals spokesman said the team had no comment.

"Pacman" Jones gets probation for Vegas brawl

LAS VEGAS (Reuters) – Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Adam “Pacman” Jones was sentenced on Thursday to a year’s probation for his role in a 2007 Las Vegas strip club brawl that left one man paralyzed from the waist down and two others wounded.

The sentence on a gross misdemeanor charge of conspiracy to commit disorderly conduct means Jones, 27, who pleaded guilty, must stay out of trouble for a year, perform 200 hours of community service, take anger management classes and submit to random drug tests.

The charges stem from an altercation in February 2007 when Jones, who was with the NFL’s Tennessee Titans at the time, visited Las Vegas during the National Basketball Association’s All-Star weekend.

According to police reports, the incident occurred at the Minxx strip club, after Jones “made it rain” by throwing money into the air.

Minutes later, a brawl ensued outside the club and Arvin Kenti Edwards, an associate of Jones, began shooting into a group of people, according to police.

Edwards has entered an “Alford plea” to the charge of attempted murder, meaning he will not contest the charge.

Robert Langford, an attorney for Jones, said the player was “looking forward to having this chapter behind him.”

“He’s grown up, and realized that there’s more to life than just another big party. He doesn’t go to strip clubs in Las Vegas anymore — not even in Cincinnati,” Langford said.

Probation for ‘Pac-Man’ after Vegas chaos

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (AFP) – Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam ‘Pac-Man’ Jones was put on probation and sentenced to 200 hours’ community service on Thursday after a plea deal regarding a 2007 brawl in Las Vegas.

The suspended sentence was contingent upon Jones completing anger management classes as well as undergoing random drug tests for his role in a shooting at a strip club that left a club employee paralyzed.

Two others were also wounded.

While Jones has denied any role in the shooting, he pleaded no contest in 2007 to a misdemeanor charge of conspiring to commit disorderly conduct.

The plea deal saw two felony coercion charges reduced.

Jones sentenced to year of probation

Updated Feb 24, 2011 2:45 PM ET

LAS VEGAS

Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was sentenced to one year of probation Thursday for his role in a 2007 altercation outside a strip club that ended with three people being shot, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

The incident at Minxx in Las Vegas occurred during NBA All-Star Weekend, where numerous athletes usually gather. Jones, 27, had entered the club with his entourage and threw hundreds of $1 bills in the air.

The confrontation reportedly occurred when some of the strippers started picking up the money, and Jones objected. He was kicked out of the club, and the shootings occurred a short time later.

A bouncer, Tommy Urbanski, was among the wounded and ended up paralyzed from the waist down. The club’s owner claimed at the time that Jones knew the alleged shooter, Arvin Edwards, but Jones said he did not.

Jones pleaded no contest in December 2007 to conspiracy to commit disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, after agreeing to testify against Edwards.

The former West Virginia Mountaineer will also have to perform 200 hours of community service, take an anger-management class and submit to random drug tests.

Edwards is set to be sentenced May 31 after submitting an Alford plea to one count of attempted murder with a deadly weapon. An Alford plea means a defendant does not admit guilt, but concedes that prosecutors have enough evidence to convict.

According to reports, Edwards tried to extort money from Jones after the shooting, but the one-time Pro Bowl cornerback denies ever paying him.

Jones has had a troubled NFL career, marked by at least five arrests, since the Titans selected him sixth overall in the 2005 NFL Draft. A few months after the shootings, the NFL suspended Jones for the entire 2007 season.

In 2008, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Jones, who was then playing for the Cowboys, for six more games after Jones was involved in a fight with his bodyguard at a Dallas hotel. The incident did not result in Jones’ arrest.
